Roots of Peace is a humanitarian organisation whose mission is to rid the world of landmines and other remnants of war by transforming minefields into thriving farmland and communities through a focus on sustainable, organic farming practices. The Commercial Horticulture & Agricultural Marketing Program (CHAMP) recently received a 3-year funding extension. CHAMP provides focused attention to supply chains, marketing, and export promotion of Afghan fruits, nuts, vegetables and other high market value crops to international markets. It helps Afghan traders and agribusinesses export high value crops to wholesale markets and supermarkets in the region by focusing on two major components: 1) Supply Chain Improvement and 2) Export Market Development to strengthen commercial horticultural exports from Afghanistan.
Director of Project to Strengthen the Cocoa and Coffee Sector, Liberia:
In keeping with the early food and beverage theme! The role provides guidance and management of a project to strengthen the cocoa and coffee sector in Liberia in close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and the program management unit. The project consists of improving access to financing, inputs, technology and marketing for 3,750 cocoa and coffee farmers in organisations and cooperatives. Revitalisation of the cocoa and coffee value chains is part of the strategy for generating additional wealth for the various links in these sectors. The project provides assistance to strengthening the competencies of farmers and cooperative leaders and promotes sustainable business links between producers and private actors in civil society.

Program Advisor – Sanitation Marketing / Community Based Social Enterprises, Australia:
The Program Advisor is responsible for guiding technical implementation of the Western Pacific Sanitation Marketing and Innovation Program (WPSMIP), supporting project teams in their planning, strategising, reporting, and reviewing their approaches. The WPSMIP is funded by the Australian Government and is being implemented in Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, PNG and Fiji by a consortium of Live & Learn (Lead), International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) and International Water Centre (IWC) working alongside in-country locally registered offices of Live & Learn. The main focus of the program is the development and establishment of community-based sanitation enterprises in peri-urban, informal settlements, whilst also facilitating an optimal enabling environment for these enterprises to succeed and thrive. The Program also aims to improve sanitation and hygiene outcomes in schools.
CARE Australia is looking to fill an IT Officer position within their Corporate Services Department. The position plays a role in ensuring the smooth running of CARE’s IT systems and is the first point of contact for IT support to staff in a number of locations including overseas. The IT Officer is responsible for developing reports to provide updates on the status of tasks and issues to be resolved, ensuring timely support is provided to clients. CARE maintains a modern up to date IT environment using the latest software releases. To be successful in this position you will be an experienced IT Officer with well-developed IT problem solving skills and the ability to support desktop/notebook hardware and software. Your good technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, and experience in supporting Windows 7, 8 and 10 will set you apart from others. Your customer service orientation, communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships will be complemented by your attention to detail and proven organisational time management skills.
